School boards across the Diocese of Grand Rapids work together at fall summit

Diocese School Boards Fall Summit

More than a hundred members of school boards across the Diocese of Grand Rapids recently gathered for an evening of collaboration. The November 4 school board summit was an opportunity for different boards to meet each other, share best practices and brainstorm.

The Diocesan Catholic School Board organizes this kind of summit every spring and fall as part of our "Catholic Schools: Bridging Faith and Future" strategic plan.

After gathering for opening prayer, participants broke into smaller sessions about topics like finance, strategic planning, mission effectiveness, development, admissions and marketing. By the end of the summit, these leaders from our different schools worked together on further strengthening the educational ministry throughout our diocese.

Members of the different school boards across the diocese will meet for their next summit in May.

Catholic schools in the Diocese of Grand Rapids are an alliance of 31 vibrant learning communities (26 elementary and five high schools) serving more than 6,340 preschool through 12th grade students throughout West Michigan. Our schools inspire young people to grow in Catholic faith and grace, achieve more in school and life, develop creativity and character, and feel welcomed and cherished for their unique gifts. We partner with parents to awaken the whole child to a world of light and life — that grows better and brighter when children reach their potential.
